ACTING Mayor Isko Moreno yesterday urged Manila residents to only buy meat which had been cleared by the city’s veterinary inspection board to ensure their safety from the deadly swine flu.
Moreno said that while there are no reported direct links between pork consumption and contracting the said virus, there is still nothing like being cautious.
With or without the swine flu virus, Moreno said it is important for the consuming public to be extra careful with the meat they are buying and ingesting.
The only way to ensure that the meat we are buying is safe for consumption is to check on the source and make sure that it has passed through rigid inspection.
The VIB head, Engr. Junior Co, Moreno said, is tasked with clearing all meat products before they find their way into the markets.
